Urge California Assembly Members to support strong climate legislation

Dear Assembly Member,

I am writing to urge you to vote Yes on SB 32 and SB 350.

By supporting SB 32 and SB 350, we can reduce air pollution, improve health, grow California’s prominence in the innovative technology sector and create jobs in the clean energy and transportation sectors, and reduce the significant economic risks and costs associated with extreme heat, wildfires, drought, infectious diseases, and rising oceans -- especially in the disadvantaged communities hardest hit by climate impacts.

I’m counting on you to reinforce and advance our state’s leadership in taking action on the most pressing issue of our time, climate change.

Why is this important?

Two critical bills in the California State legislature have the potential to solidify California’s leadership position on climate action and clean energy and to significantly advance associated economic and jobs growth as well as health improvements.

Senate Bill 32 (SB 32) is a statutory commitment for California to reduce GHG emissions to 80% below 1990 levels by 2050. Senate Bill 350 (SB 350) sets targets for 2030 that achieve 50% reduction in petroleum use in cars and trucks, 50% of utility power from renewable energy, and double the energy efficiency of existing buildings.

Sign to urge your Assembly Member to vote Yes on SB 32 and SB 350.
