Green Day

As students of Prior Lake High School, we call on you to take in interest in our Green Day Proposal. Green Day will be school wide and take place once every two months. On these days the whole school will spend most of the day outside. All of the lights, computers, and monitors will be turned off for the day. The students of Prior Lake High School will spend the day outside learning about the environment.. When the students are outside they will be learning about recycling, green energy and other environment factors. When the students are outside they will be learning about recycling, green energy and other environment factors. The energy saved on Green Day will be used to fund future Green Days and some of the saved money will be saved to one day buy solar panels. Student will be expected to bring a bagged lunch, as the school will be selling only meat sandwiches, bags of chips, and an apple or banana.

Why is this important?

Green Day is important to the students of Prior Lake High School because we are concerned about the environment. This will help the students learn more about the environment. By turning all of the lights off we will limit the output of carbon dioxide. We need to use less energy and cut down the amount of carbon dioxide we release into the atmosphere. While this is one small step on the global scale, it is a large step for our community. This will help set the pace for our future of environmental care.
