Let Farmers Grow Hemp for Fuel

The climate scientists are telling us that we need to clean up the CO2 in the atmosphere to curb global warming. Did you know that growing one million acres of hemp can remove about 10,000,000,000 lbs of carbon from the atmosphere every year? That’s 10 billion pounds!

We MUST transition away from fossil fuels, and growing hemp is the best way.

Fracking is poisoning our water and leaking methane into the atmosphere. Coal mining and oil drilling are destroying our environment. Then, burning fossil fuels creates even more major problems such as smog, acid rain, and global warming.

Solution: Create a Green Cycle.

If we let our farmers grow large hemp crops nationwide, the plants would take in much of the CO2 in the atmosphere, effectively cleaning it. The industrial hemp plant can also provide a clean-burning fuel that contains NO sulphur and DOES NOT contribute to global warming. Henry Ford even built a car with hemp plastic body panels that ran on hemp fuel. Hemp can also provide material that can be converted into a charcoal that our power plants could burn to generate electricity INSTEAD OF COAL. Think about that. Our farmers can provide a cleaner material to power plants to use instead of coal. It's also no secret that plastic made from hemp is non-toxic and bio-degradeable. We could easily solve the huge plastic problem in our oceans and landfills by switching to hemp plastic.

If we lift the ban on hemp farming, American farmers can provide most of our energy needs in a sustainable manner. We could easily convert all diesel engines to run on hemp fuel. We would no longer need nearly as much petroleum oil. We could also cut way back on the mining and burning of coal to produce electricity. All the fossil industry workers would be able to find better, green jobs in the hemp industry.

This is how we transition away from fossil fuels. It's pretty easy.

Remember, the climate scientists are telling us we must REVERSE what we have done. We must reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. The hemp plant is the only plant capable of doing this when our farmers grow it on a large scale.

What are we waiting for?? We all know that it was outrageous to ban this crop to begin with. It's no secret that Henry Ford wanted a green cycle based on hemp farming. He even built an ethanol plant that had about 25% of the fuel market in the midwest. His plan was ruined when John D. Rockefeller of Standard Oil, who was a good friend of Secretary of the Treasury Andrew Mellon, started funding what would become the Women's Christian Temperence Union. By pushing for alcohol prohibition they would ensure that Ford could not produce clean-burning ethanol fuel. Outrageous!

Let’s be clear: Hemp has ALWAYS been an essential crop around the world.

Thomas Jefferson said “Hemp is of first necessity to the wealth & protection of the country.”

George Washington himself said we should “Make the most you can of the Indian Hemp seed and sow it everywhere.”

It's time undo the huge mistake that was made by Congress in 1937. Outlawing the staple crop of the nation so that some oil and chemical companies could make far more money is simply a crime against the people and the environment.

In short, hemp farms could clean CO2 from the atmosphere, provide oil for clean fuel and plastic, provide the material for power plants to generate electricity, and provide raw material for all the paper we need as well as many lumber products, food, and much more. We can greatly reduce deforestation, oil drilling, and coal mining, and let farmers grow hemp instead.

SUMMARY: To solve the climate crisis
1. End the Prohibition of Industrial hemp
2. Outlaw genetically engineered hemp (and patents on all GE organisms)
3. Encourage farmers to grow hemp nationwide, reducing CO2 in the atmosphere
4. Use the raw material to produce clean-burning hemp fuel, building products, paper, & charcoal
5. Convert all diesel engines to run on hemp fuel
6. Reduce the use of fossil fuels
7. Phase out petroleum gasoline vehicles in favor of hemp fuel vehicles
8. Phase out fracking and the burning of coal at power plants. Burn hemp charcoal instead- much cleaner
9. Keep growing more hemp! It’s the best way to REMOVE CO2 from the atmosphere
10. Divest from fossil fuels. This green cycle is the best plan to solve the climate crisis.
