Get polluters out of politics
Sign the Pollution Free Politics Pledge:
I personally support, and call on all politicians and parties to support:
• a ban on donations from fossil fuel companies, and
• a ban on subsidies to fossil fuel companies.
[This does not include a ban on subsidies to Australia’s farmers.]
Why is this important?
Despite more than two decades of talking, our climate is at a crisis point because our leaders have allowed themselves to be captured by the fossil fuel industry. If our politicians are serious about climate change, then they need to stop taking money from and giving money to the big polluters.
How it will be delivered
On 28 April 2016, we delivered the petition to David Feeney's office in person, and invited him to commit to the pledge. He failed to do this, but we have kept his options open and continue to encourage him to commit.
Signatures provided after 28 April will be delivered at a later stage in the campaign.
However, the next step is the Conga Line of Coal taking place between Feeney's office and Preston Market on 21 May 10am. Please sign up to help prepare or at least come along on the day.
